Achievements

2016-17

• Market Kesari Patra of P.G. Ist year secured 2^nd position in English Debate Competition organized by School of Women Studies on International Women’s Day i.e. 8.03.2017.
• Bishnupriya Panda of PG Part II has been felicitated by Hon’ble Governor of Odisha for securing 1^st rank in P.G. Entrance Examination 2015.
• Madhusmita Behera was felicitated for securing Ist rank in Political Science Honours by Bhadrak Autonomous College, Bhadrak.
• Soumya Ranjan Jena was felicitated for securing Ist rank in Political Science Honours by F.M. Autonomous College, Balasore.
• Swadhina Rout was felicitated by Bijoyani Award for securing Ist rank in Political Science for women graduate, by Bijoyani Foundation.

2017-18

• Jadumani Naik of M.A Ist year, stood third in shot-put competition in the Athletic Meet of the University, 2017
• Sukanta Das (P.G Part II) won the Third Prize and a Cash Award of Rs. 800/- in the Kadambini Devi General Knowledge Competetion  held on the occasion of Foundation Day of Utkal University celebrations  , 2017.
• Sukanta Das (P.G Part II)  won the Ist  Prize in the Quiz Competition held as the   Annual day Celebtrations of Department of Public Administration, Utkal University.
• Ritanjali Sethy (P.G Part I) won the Third Prize English Essay held by Women Studies Department on 8^th March, 2018.
• In the Poster Competetion for “Gandhi” Seminar held on 29^th January, 2018 two students won cash prizes. They are
• Harapriya Panda (P.G Part I)- 2^nd (Rs. 1500/-)
• Ranendra Pratap Swain (P.G Part II)- 3^rd ( Rs. 1000/-)
• Ranendra Pratap Swain( P.G Part II), received the Gagan Bihari Chand Memorial Scholarship and a cash      prize of Rs. 7000/- on 27.11.2017

2018-2019

• Subhendu Bikash Tahal ( P.G Part I)  won the second Prize and a Cash Award of Rs. 900/- in the Kadambini Devi General Knowledge Competetion  held on the occasion of Foundation Day of Utkal University celebrations  , 2018.
• Ratikanta  Das ( P.G Part II), received the Gagan Bihari Chand Memorial Scholarship and a cash prize of Rs. 7000/- for the current session.

Students

Admission to M.A. Political Science is through the common entrance/admission process. The Department has an intake capacity of 64 students in M.A. and receives strong demand through SAMS/common entrance. Student support is provided through mentoring, slow learner support, advanced learner activities, seminar participation, project work, dissertation, literary activities, class tests, mid-semester and end-semester examinations.
