Utkal University Placement Cell facilitates recruitment and career development for the students studying in different Post Graduate departments and self-financing programmes in the university. The cell continuously strives to help students in pursuing their career goals by acquiring employment-seeking skills and ultimately attain desired employment.
The Cell undertakes several activities to strengthen capacity of the young talents and raise their confidence to meet the real life challenges in the fast changing global and national market. The activities aim at equipping the students to contribute meaningfully to their own development, shape their own destiny as well as that of the state and society.
Utkal University Placement Cell organizes several activities to enhance employability and facilitate employment opportunities for the youths who are about to complete their formal education. These include
- Campus Recruitment Drives– Utkal University facilitates campus recruitment drives for students perusing professional courses as well as traditional courses inviting corporate, banks, NGOs and government departments for the benefit of the students.
- Employability Assessment Test– Utkal University Placement Cell arranges Employability Assessment Tests for the students in association with organizations such as NASSCOM (NAC-TEC), Aspiring Minds (AMCAT) and Mettl (MET) and share comprehensive report with the students for corrective action. Besides, The Cell has made arrangement with a number of recruitment portals such as www.firstnaukri.com , www.monster.com , www.freshersworld.com , www.hireme.com , www.placementseason.com etc for skills assessment and virtual recruitment free of cost for Utkal University students
- Career Counseling– The Cell arranges both One-on-One and group career counseling sessions for the students to make them aware of their strengths and weaknesses, explore their values and interest, identify the skills gaps and take up new learning to achieve career goals.
- Basic Employability Skills Training– The Cell organizes Basic Employability Skills Training for students from all streams that include training in Job Preparedness, communication Skills, Etiquettes and Manners, Personality Grooming, Team Work and IT skills.
- Pre Placement Training– Pre Placement Training for recruitment drives, particularly in the areas of Reasoning, Aptitude and English are conducted at the university for the practice of the participating students.
- Online Mock Tests– As online tests have become the first process in majority of the recruitment drives, Utkal University has tied up with placementseason.com s for online mock tests free of cost.
- Virtual recruitment– The Cell has made arrangements with several recruitment portals such as firstnaukri.com , www.monster.com , www.fresherworld.com for online registration and selection of students of the university free of cost.
