The Department of Applied Microbiology at Utkal University has been offering the M.Sc. Applied Microbiology Programme since 2000 and has produced more than 100 Masters students in the discipline. The programme is designed to meet the needs of students preparing for national level eligibility tests, while also building strong foundations in modern microbiology. Its four-semester curriculum covers fundamentals of microbiology, microbial diversity, physiology, molecular biology, ecology, genetics, immunology, biostatistics, instrumentation, microbial biotechnology, agricultural microbiology, plant pathology, industrial microbiology, environmental microbiology, and pharmaceutical and clinical microbiology.
