MA (Utkal University) (Retd. IAS) Former State Election Commissioner
Shri Sanjiv Hota, completed his M.A. in Economics under Utkal University in 1966. He taught Analytical and Applied Economics in Utkal University from 1967 to 1968 before joining Indian Administrative Service in July 1968. In his administrative career he held many important assignments like Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, Transport Commissioner, Revenue Secretary, Home Secretary, Secretary, Higher Education, and Agriculture Secretary. He was Agriculture Production Commissioner for a long time. He was promoted to the rank of Chief Secretary and retired as Member, Board of Revenue, Odisha in September 2004. After retirement he was appointed as State Election Commissioner and held this constitutional post for five years and demitted the office in September 2009.
