Professor (Dr.) Kumar B Das

Dr. Kumar B Das joined as Reader in Utkal University in the year 1987 and served as Professor at Utkal University since 1990. Prior to that he was working as Reader in Ravishankar University, Raipur. He has worked as Head of Department of Analytical and Applied Economics. He has also worked as Vice Chancellor at Fakir Mohan University during 2011-2015. He is the First person to get the highest Degree in Economics (i.e.D.Litt and DSc.) in Odisha. He has supervised 28 PhD scholars and 53 M.Phil scholars in different universities of India. He is the author of 25 books published by reputed publishers and 200 research papers published in reputed national and international Journals. He is having of 35 years of teaching experience. He has received many fellowships from different countries. He has also worked as a member of Economic Advisory Board in Chandrasekhar Govt in New Delhi in 1992.
He has got Best Research Award at APHEIT, Bangkok, Thailand in 2004; Best Economist award at Rajiv Gandhi Forum in 2007; and Best educationist Award at World Educational Congress, Mumbai in 2012. He has worked as Head of SBI Chair Research Unit, Utkal university during 1990-2000; as director of Research Center at Sanghai University, China during 2004-2006; and as Head of RBI Research Center at Utkal University during 2006 – 2011. . He was the member of Expert Group for Urban Reforms in Obama Secretariat, USA in 2009. He has visited more than 30 countries in the world. He has worked as President as well as vice president of Orissa Economics Association.
