Prof (Dr.)Surendra Nath Mishra

Born on 19 February 1944, Prof Mishra completed his under graduation from SCS College, Puri and post-graduation in Economics from Allahabad University. He started his professional career as a Lecturer in Kendrapara College and later on served in Berhampur University as well as Utkal University. Subsequently he joined the ICSSR assisted Government of Odisha’s Naba Krushna Choudhury Centre for Development Studies (NCDS) as a Professor. His research contributions at NCDS in the areas of Banking and Finance, Agro industries, and Poverty are markedly visible through a large number of research projects, book chapters, journal articles and occasional/working papers. Prof Mishra has successfully completed 14 funded research projects, authored/edited 23 books and guided 10 PhD scholars. He has taken up the responsibility as a member of the Executive Committee of the Indian Economics Association and the President of Orissa Economics Association.
