Dr. Guru Charan Pradhan joined the Department of
Chemistry, Utkal University in the year 1985 as Lecturer, became Reader in 1991, and Professor in 2003. He completed Post Graduation in 1975 and Ph.D. in 1991 from the Department of Chemistry, Utkal University. Prior to joining the Department, he served as Lecturer in Chemistry in different Government Colleges in Odisha.
His research areas include inorganic reaction mechanisms and symmetry aspects in a chemical reaction. He has published 45 research papers in various journals of national and international repute and successfully completed two funded research projects. Six scholars have been awarded Ph.D. under his guidance.
He has been actively associated with Sri Sathya Sai Organisation in various capacities for the last 20 years and working as visiting Professor at Sri Sathya Sai University since 2007. He also organized and was actively involved in many outreach programmes for the different sections of people of society.
He superannuated as a Professor of Chemistry in 2011.
