Prof. A. K. Bisoi

Prof. A.K. Bisoi:

• Prof. A.K. Bisoijoined Utkal University in 1970 as a research scholar in the
  Dept of Physics. He served the University from 1971 to 2011 in various
  capacities, (Physics: Research Assistant, Computer Science: Asst Programmer,
  Programmer, Lecturer, Reader, Professor). During the period from 1972 to 1981,
  he conducted six-week courses on the FORTRAN programming language, 28
  times using the newly installed IBM 1130 computer, in which about 1500 persons from various
  institutions were trained.
• During 1976-1977 he was a DAAD scholar at the Goethe Institute, Prien and the Johannes
  Gutenberg Universitat, Mainz, Germany. In 1978 he obtained a Ph D in Particle Physics under
  the guidance of Prof B. B. Deo.
• He joined as a Lecturer in Computer Science in 1984, when the Post-B. Sc. Diploma course in
  Computer Application was launched. Subsequently, he became a Reader in Computer Science in
  1990 and a Professor in Computer Science in 1999. In the meanwhile, during 1996-2001 he had
  served at the IGIT, Sarang as Professor and Head in Computer Science, on lien from Utkal
  University. Post retirement, he has served as a Professor in the School of Computer Engineering
  at the KIIT University during 2011-2016
• He has been an Associate member of ICTP Trieste, Italy in the field of Computational Physics
  and has visited ICTP, five times during 1986-1996.
• Other scholarships awarded to him are: Science Talent Scholarship, Govt of Madhya Pradesh
  (1965-1968) and Post Graduate Scholarship, Dept of Atomic Energy (1969-1970).
• His areas of research include: Theoretical Particle Physics, Computer Algebra, Fractals Chaos
  and Computer Graphics, Image Processing, Software Engineering. He has 15 Journal and 12
  Conference publications along with 2 ICTP Reports, He has guided four Ph.D. students in
  Computer Science.
• The various administrative positions occupied by him are: Head, Dept of CSA; Coordinator,
  Integrated MCA; Director, School of Mathematics, Statistics & Computer Science; Prof in
  Charge, Computer Centre; Utkal University. Head, Dept Computer Science, IGIT, Sarang;
  Chairman, MCAJEE subcommittee of Odisha ( 1998 &1999); Dean, School of Computer
  Engineering, KIIT University.
