Historical Background of the Course :

Since 2000, The Course has produced more than 250 Masters and 50 Ph.D. Awardees in the subject of Environmental science. The course consists of four semesters with Choice Based Credit System in which there are 10 core theory papers (6 credits each), three SWAYAM courses/One Allied elective, One Free Elective and One optional (out of three) in the fourth semester (two theory papers and one dissertation and one seminar presentation) and three practical papers (6 credits each). The projects, dissertation, and practical assignments are available along with theory classes. The syllabus was revised frequently (latest in 2021) keeping recent advances and cutting-edge technologies in the field of Environmental Sciences. The course has a revised syllabus with more than 80% similarity as per the CSIR-UGC-NET/ICAR-NET/GATE Syllabus. The students qualified for national level examination viz. UGC/ICAR NET/JRF and pursue higher studies in many institutions of national reputes. The alumni of the course were engaged in different government and non-government organizations such as PSUs, OCS, OSSC, CSIR-CSMCRI, Hindalco steel ltd, Jindal Stainless ltd., Tata Steel ltd., Banking Institutionsetc. as bureaucrats, administrators, scientists, managers, teaching posts in many educational institutes and entrepreneurs. Many of our students perusing their higher education in national institutes of high repute such as IIT Delhi, IISER Bhopal, CSIR-NEERI, CSIR-IMMT, ICAR-NRRI, IIT-ISM Dhanbad, etc. The course has provided with high-class study ambiance aimed at the career building of the students in the discipline of Environmental Science.
