Law is such a subject which has inter-correlation with other allied subjects. New subjects like IPR; Bio-technology & Law; Transfer of technology & Law etc have gained importance in modern times. Therefore, to meet the requirements, the Department has introduced new Choice Based Credit System where new subjects have been reflected.
The students of the department have been excelling in the field of debates , and cultural activities etc. One student Ms Linky Priya Sahoo has stood first in national debate competition organized by Odisha Human Rights Commission in the year 2014-15. Apart from that, the students’ performance in competitive examination like Odisha Judicial Service is remarkable. The faculties of the department have proven their excellence as visiting fellow to various institutions like, Orissa Judicial Academy, Odisha, Policy academy, XLRI, Jamshedpur etc. The department organises legal awareness camp every year in different area such as consumer rights, indigenous peoples ‘right, Human rights, child rights ect.
